THOMAS CLARIDGE MANN founder of T C Mann & Sons moved from Heyford and began shoe manufacturing in the village. (See Plaque 8) He had this house built, together with Rocklands (19 Station Road) and Manchester House, Whiston Road for other family members. He died in 1921.
